Postponed to unknown? Hessencampus invites to events

Long-Covid, school disaffection, rise in mental illness: The Corona pandemic has left deep scars on society. Through a series of events from April to June, the Hessencampus Waldeck-Frankenberg would like to inform and offer support and assistance in coming to terms with the crisis and looking to the future with hope.

Lectures in April
There will be an evening workshop for parents on 27 January at 7.30 pm at the Korbach Adult Education Centre. Learning therapist Julia Buckebrede and educationalist Monika Breszka will teach them how to motivate their children to return to school after Corona. The background to this is that many children and adolescents have lost their structure in learning and thus also their motivation for school due to the distance and alternating lessons. Long Covid and how those affected can deal with it will be the subject of a lecture to be given by Emad Sibai, a specialist in lung diseases, on 28 April at 7 pm in the auditorium of the Hans Viessmann School in Frankenberg.

Lectures in May and June
Another lecture, to be given by business coach and health advisor Thorsten Donat on 11 May at 7 p.m. in the Stadthalle Korbach, will deal with the problem that many people have withdrawn from social life due to the pandemic-related lockdown - and how to re-enter social contacts under the protection of recommended measures. On 16 May, psychologist Dr Claus Koch will give a lecture for professionals and parents at 7 p.m. in the Alte Landesschule on what really helps children and young people after the effects of the pandemic - and why it is important to work through the consequences appropriately through Corona.

The last lecture in the series will be on 2 June at 7 p.m. in the Frankenberg Kulturhalle and will focus on how society can live after Corona - and what conclusions can be drawn from the past years for society as a whole. The lecture will be given by Prof. Dr. Hans-Jürgen Burchhardt, Professor of International Relations. Interested parties are cordially invited to attend the lectures. All events are free of charge. Registration is requested by e-mail to svenja.lotze@lkwafkb.de. Further information is also available online at www.hessencampus-waldeck-frankenberg.de or in the district's calendar of events.
