District offers training in recreational care

This year, the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg is again offering training to become a supervisor in the field of camps. This basic pedagogical training qualifies interested persons to lead, accompany and supervise camps with children and young people on their own responsibility.

Interested persons are given the opportunity to test in a practical way whether they are suited to work as a caregiver. "Pupils, trainees, students, but also professionals are represented in the team. Their commitment makes the camps exciting and eventful. We are happy that every year new people show interest in volunteering," says Ines Normann from the youth department of the district. "In addition to learning about important topics and preparing for their work at the camps, you can exchange ideas with other supervisors, who have become friends in the meantime, and you have the opportunity to get to know new people," reports one of the supervisors.

For the assignment, the caregivers receive an expense allowance and reimbursement of travel expenses, as well as free board and lodging during their free time. The activity can also be credited as an internship. Time off for voluntary work in youth work is possible. The training takes place from 4 to 6 February and from 6 to 8 May. A further date will be determined individually by the leisure teams. Registration for the training is possible until 20 January.

The events will be adapted taking into account the current Corona regulations and protective measures. The implementation and framework conditions depend on the course of the Corona pandemic. The district of Waldeck-Frankenberg accepts registrations by e-mail: ines.normann@lkwafkb.de or by phone 05631 - 954 493. Further information on the training and activities of caregivers is also available there.
