Next meeting of the district council takes place on 27 September in Frankenberg

On 27 September, the 71 members of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district council will meet for their next session after the summer break. It will take place as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations at the Philipp Soldan Forum in Frankenberg (Eder), starting at 1.30 pm. District council chairman Rainer Hesse cordially invites all citizens interested in the work of the committee to attend the public meeting. Registration is not required.

Three of the 13 items on the agenda deal with motions from the district parliamentary groups, one is a major question, twice the members of the district council are allowed to vote and three times financial matters take centre stage. The result of the potential investigation into the possible reactivation of the Bad Wildungen - Hemfurth-Edersee railway line ("Ederseebahn") will also be discussed. In addition, there will be a question and answer session, a topical hour and a "miscellaneous" item to conclude the meeting.

The major enquiry is about the landfill site in Diemelsee-Flechtdorf. The motions deal with a deportation offensive to Syria, closing a gap in the Edersee railway cycle path between Buhlen and Giflitz and the possible continued operation of the Hessenstein youth castle. A substitute member of the Board of Directors of Sparkasse Waldeck-Frankenberg and a member/deputy member of the staff representatives on the administrative boards of the legally independent vocational schools (RSBS) "Berufliche Schulen Korbach und Bad Arolsen" and "Hans-Viessmann-Schule" are to be elected. The financial matters concern the subordination of an existing loan receivable for the Willingen care hotel, the report on budget implementation for the second quarter of 2024 and information on the approval of unscheduled expenses in the sub-budget 122 "District roads".
