District is looking for day carers: Course in September

Demand is high, which is why the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg is once again looking for new childminders this year. A basic qualification course for prospective childminders starts in September. Anyone who can imagine working as a childminder can acquire a qualification in the field of child day care and receive a care licence to look after children. In order to shorten travel distances, the course will take place in all of the district's medium-sized centres for the first time.

Child day care has a long tradition alongside day care centres in Hesse and is an established and high-quality childcare service. As a public form of childcare, it is financially supported by the youth welfare offices and the state of Hesse. Childminders look after and support children - usually up to the age of three, sometimes older - in their own home, in the home of their biological parents or in other suitable premises. They offer a loving, respectful and familiar atmosphere, personalised and continuous care in small groups.

The qualification course is organised by the VHS and teaches the necessary pedagogical and developmental psychology basics, as well as addressing legal issues. Participants are members of a fixed learning group. Interested persons are requested to contact the district's youth department at the specialist supervisors for child day care on tel. 05631 954-1782 or by e-mail.
