District council meets for its next session on 2 July

The next meeting of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district council will take place on 2 July 2025 from 1 p.m. in the district council meeting room of the district building in Korbach. District council chairman Rainer Hesse cordially invites all citizens interested in the work of the committee to attend the meeting. Registration is not required.

In addition to "Question Time", "Current Concerns" and "Miscellaneous", the 18 items on the agenda include seven major questions and four motions from the district parliamentary groups. The major questions deal with: Promotion of non-governmental organisations, specialist unit for the promotion of democracy, total costs of container village, payment card for refugees, child day carers, safeguarding the welfare of children in day care centres and "Audit of the annual financial statements of the towns and municipalities belonging to the district".

The motions deal with: "Use of the district's income from shares of the current trade tax back payments to the town of Battenberg for debt repayment and reduction of the district levy", use of the district's own sports halls during the holidays, introduction of a district-wide competition to reduce energy consumption in schools and simplification of the approval process for listed buildings.

On 2 July, the district council will also discuss a new version of the school budget guidelines from 1 January 2026 and the 2023 investment report. The agenda will be rounded off by a discussion on a partial aspect of the construction of a new footpath/cycle path on the district road between Nieder-Werbe and the Scheid peninsula and the closing of the gap in the cycle path between Buhlen and Giflitz and Wega on the old railway line.
