25 years as district fire inspector: Gerhard Biederbick honoured
Last week, district fire inspector Gerhard Biederbick celebrated his 25th anniversary of service in the district council meeting room of the district building in Korbach. On this special occasion, numerous guests - including representatives of the fire service, the regional council and politicians - honoured Gerhard Biederbick's outstanding achievements and tireless commitment in the field of fire and disaster protection.
Dedicated commitment to the district
Refugee crisis, coronavirus pandemic and various major fires: Gerhard Biederbick has accompanied the district through various crises and events in his role as district fire inspector for a quarter of a century. In addition to this role, he is also head of the rescue, fire and disaster control service and is therefore also responsible for the district's central control centre. "We can always rely on Gerhard Biederbick's commitment when dealing with a wide range of challenges," emphasised District Administrator Jürgen van der Horst at the start of the ceremony. "We would therefore like to thank him for 25 years of tireless and dedicated service to the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg."
Special commitment to fire brigades
Whether in the district, local or youth fire brigades, Gerhard Biederbick is consistently committed to the interests of the fire brigades and is highly valued by his comrades as district fire inspector. This was also emphasised by First District Councillor Karl-Friedrich Frese during the ceremony: "Volunteer fire service work is a central component of our society. In Gerhard Biederbick, we have a passionate and competent district fire inspector who motivates the volunteers and works tirelessly for the safety of the population." The words of praise were also echoed by Mayor Christian Klein, deputising for the mayors of the towns and municipalities, fire protection officer of the regional council Thomas Finis and many other speakers.
