Child day care qualification: There are still places available
The next qualification round for prospective childminders has recently started. There are still places available on the current training programme. Anyone interested in joining the programme is welcome to contact the district.
Demand is high, which is why the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg is once again looking for new childminders this year. A basic qualification course for prospective childminders started in September. For the first time, the qualification course will take place in various medium-sized centres in the district in order to accommodate the different travel distances of the participants.
There are still places available in the current round. Anyone who can imagine working as a childminder can still join and gain a qualification in the field of childcare. After successfully completing the course, childminders receive a care licence to look after children. The care can take place in their own private rooms or in rented rooms - after prior inspection of the premises by the district's youth department.
Child day care has a long tradition alongside day care centres in Hesse and is an established and high-quality childcare service. As a public form of childcare, it is financially supported by the youth welfare offices and the state of Hesse.
Childminders look after and support children - usually up to the age of three, sometimes older - in their own home, in the home of their biological parents or in other suitable premises. They offer a loving, respectful and familiar atmosphere, personalised and continuous care in small groups.
The qualification course is organised by the VHS and teaches the necessary pedagogical and developmental psychology basics, as well as addressing legal issues.
