Childminders receive certificates

First District Councillor and Head of the Youth Department Karl-Friedrich Frese welcomed new childminders and childminders to the Waldeck-Frankenberg district this spring who have acquired the federal certificate for childminding. The seven ladies and one couple have completed the part of the basic qualification that accompanies their work and have received the corresponding certificates. After a long career as a childminder, Sabine Lange from Gemünden (Wohra) also retired during the ceremony.

In the in-service training programme for childminders, theory and practice are combined. It gives existing childminders the opportunity to combine scientific expertise with their practical experience in order to develop professional skills. The newly qualified childminders offer their services in Allendorf (Eder), Bad Wildungen, Battenberg (Eder), Frankenberg (Eder), Vöhl-Dorfitter, Waldeck and Waldeck-Freienhagen.

At the ceremony to present the certificate, the First District Councillor emphasised the great importance of childcare against the backdrop of social change. Child day care is therefore an indispensable childcare service in the district with a high value, especially for children under the age of three. The district is recognising this by constantly expanding the services and their quality.

The qualification courses have been organised by the district adult education centre for many years. Director Manuel Wolf thanked the graduates for their motivated participation and drew attention to other vhs programmes. These would help to deepen and expand the specialised knowledge acquired.

A further training course to become a childminder is currently taking place and will be completed in the summer. The next qualification will begin in November 2026. Interested parties can contact the child day care supervisor at monika.padberg-koert@lkwafkb.de or katrin.budde@lkwafkb.de or by calling 05631 954-1781 or 05631 954-1545.
