Junior staff roast sausages for a good cause

Over the past three years, the children's cancer charity, the association "Frauen helfen Frauen e. V. Waldeck-Frankenberg" and the "Tierschutzverein Korbach und Umgebung e. V." animal welfare organisation have been delighted with the donations collected by trainees and students from the Waldeck-Frankenberg district when they baked waffles. This year, the district's junior staff took a new approach: for a good cause for the Ökumenisches ambulantes Hospiz Korbach e. V. association, they offered sausages and vegan sausages at lunchtime in the courtyard of the district building in Korbach in return for a voluntary donation. The barbecue was provided free of charge by Schwalenstöcker und Gantz GmbH (Schwalli).

To the delight of the trainees and students, the new offer was extremely successful - they gave out a total of 250 roast patties and sausages and received a donation of 1,200 euros in return. District Administrator Jürgen van der Horst and First District Councillor Karl-Friedrich Frese also savoured a roast delicacy in return for a contribution to the donation box, of course. Coordinator Sandra Voss from the hospice association was delighted to receive the donation and thanked the district's junior staff for their efforts.

"Our trainees and students started the fundraising campaign three years ago by baking waffles all by themselves, on their own initiative," said the District Administrator and First District Councillor, praising the highly motivated, exemplary commitment. They were delighted that the new idea of roasting sausages had been so well received. The two district councillors also took the opportunity to thank the Ökumenisches ambulantes Hospiz Korbach e. V. association for its important work.
