Educational guidance

Educational guidance

Educational counselling is geared to the individual biography and needs of the person seeking guidance. Together, goals are developed, perspectives are opened up and options for action are identified. The aim is to sustainably strengthen educational potential and make educational pathways accessible. Educational counselling is aimed at young people and adults who want to find a new orientation or need specific information on educational opportunities.

The counselling process is structured by an initial interview and a review of the educational biography so that new educational goals and action steps can be defined. If necessary, further referral and guidance to other education providers can take place. In the personal counselling interview, there is the opportunity to compare learning experiences and experiences, skills and competences acquired both professionally and privately with current educational aspirations. The aim is to work out realistic educational perspectives and suitable strategies together with the person seeking guidance.

If desired, contact can also be made with special education providers and the transition can be accompanied. For successful educational counselling, a living cooperation with educational providers in the region is indispensable. Educational counselling is offered by the vhs Waldeck-Frankenberg on behalf of the HESSENCAMPUS Waldeck-Frankenberg and acts as a central contact point. Counselling can take place by telephone, on site in one of the four medium-sized centres Korbach, Bad Arolsen, Bad Wildungen or Frankenberg, or as a video conference via the vhs-Cloud.

New: Walk and Talk - Mobile counselling

From now on, however, educational counselling can also take place in the social environment of those seeking advice. This makes personal counselling possible even for people without transport connections to the central centres. Guidance seekers who work and want to integrate guidance into their lunch break or who have children to look after can also benefit from this offer.
