Broadband expansion in Waldeck-Frankenberg
Broadband expansion in Waldeck-Frankenberg
The broadband expansion in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district by Breitband Nordhessen GmbH has been completed in 2019. The infrastructure company of the five North Hesse districts of Hersfeld-Rotenburg, Kassel, Schwalm-Eder, Waldeck-Frankenberg and Werra-Meißner has supplied 113 districts in Waldeck-Frankenberg with around 500 kilometres of fibre-optic cables up to the Telekom cable junctions; a good 27,000 households and 4,200 commercial enterprises can benefit from this.
This fibre optic cable was leased to Netcom Kassel Gesellschaft für Telekommunikation mbH, which is setting up the necessary network technology for modern data transmission. Thanks to the use of vectoring, transmission speeds of up to 100 megabits/s are possible.
In order to be able to use the fast internet of Netcom Kassel, either Netcom Kassel can be commissioned directly or the previous provider. The following map provides information on which broadband providers operate cable-based network infrastructure in the individual districts of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district. The map is interactive and refers to the availability check of the existing providers with the corresponding links. Other providers can also offer internet and fixed network connections via the network infrastructure of the three providers. This requires corresponding contracts between the parties involved. If another provider is preferred, it should be contacted directly.
