Transition from school to work

With more than 10,000 businesses – ranging from global market leaders to small and medium-sized enterprises – Waldeck-Frankenberg offers attractive prospects for a good quality of life. The district has made it its mission, in collaboration with numerous partners, to provide the best possible support for people entering the world of work, offering job placement services, career guidance, the arrangement of apprenticeship places, and further training and qualification programmes. Vocational training is a key issue today. A well-structured transition from school to work secures a future workforce, creates opportunities and promotes social inclusion. That is why the district focuses on early career guidance, close cooperation between stakeholders and tailored support, so that young people can make a successful start in apprenticeships and employment.

ProBe - Profile development & career orientation

Theory meets practice: The ‘Profile Development and Career Guidance’ programme, which is unique in Hesse, offers young people a two-and-a-half-year career guidance phase whilst they are still at school. They can try out practical skills and abilities in specific subjects, explore their own interests in greater depth, and identify and develop their existing skills.

Optimising local placement services to support the transition from school to work

In order to effectively coordinate all activities that support young people on their path to vocational training, the State of Hesse has developed a comprehensive strategy: the optimisation of local guidance services during the transition from school to work – in short, the OloV strategy.

Regional Transition Management

The district of Waldeck-Frankenberg aims to provide effective support for young people as they make the transition from school to work, thereby enabling them to participate in society on an equal footing.

Youth Employment Agency

The Youth Careers Agency brings together regional support services to help young people make the transition from school to work, providing them with swift and tailored assistance with career guidance, work experience placements, job applications and placement in apprenticeships or jobs.
