Youth Employment Agency

Youth Employment Agency

No young person should be lost: The Youth Employment Agency (Jugendberufsagentur), which was set up by the Waldeck-Frankenberg district together with the neighbouring Schwalm-Eder district, has set itself the task of bundling the district's diverse and good support services for young people in the transition between school and work.

The cooperation agreement for the only cross-county youth employment agency in Germany was signed in December 2018 between the counties, the State Education Authority, the Employment Agency and the Job Centres. The background to this is that although there is a wide range of good support for young people in the transition from school to work in both districts, cooperation within this distinct landscape of services is still a challenge.

With the establishment of the Youth Employment Agency, the cooperation partners have committed themselves to taking up this challenge. Young people should no longer be considered exclusively within the framework of their own legal mandate, if necessary. Instead, cooperation is to take place with those actors who are in contact with a young person at the same time, have been in contact with them in the past or will be in contact with them in the near future. Especially young people with special support needs on their way into the labour market should benefit from this.
