Look - recognise violence and get help

Almost every two minutes, someone in Germany is a victim of domestic violence (Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Women and Youth). We often do not recognise the preliminary stages of violence in the domestic environment or are unable to acknowledge them. It is therefore important to examine the partnership, marriage or cohabiting relationship in the context of your own experiences, feelings and thoughts.

Also to look where we look away because we believe that "MAN(N) just does it that way with 'us'" or "MAN(N) can't help it" or "MAN(N) didn't mean it that way".

In this interactive talk, we will look at why domestic violence is not a trivial offence and can affect anyone.

We discuss how and where affected people can get support.
