WC for all

WC for all

Tired of constantly having to ask yourself which toilet is - probably - the safest option? For many people, such as trans*, intersex and non-binary people, using public toilets is associated with stress and uncertainty. They have to make a decision every time they use the men's and women's toilets: Which of the two spaces is probably the safer space for me now. The district of Waldeck-Frankenberg wants to tackle this issue and provide low-threshold access to sanitary facilities: In the district centre in Korbach, there are toilets that can be used by everyone - regardless of gender and identity.

Where can I find these toilets?

The toilets for everyone can be found in the Korbach district building at Südring 2 - on the first, second and third floors. They can be reached from the main entrance via the left-hand area of the foyer via the staircase and the lift. They are located directly next to the lift on the respective upper floors.

Why does the district offer a toilet for everyone?

Toilet facilities should be accessible and safe for everyone, regardless of gender and identity. The toilets for all complement the other toilet facilities in the building and create an additional, open offer that does justice to the diversity of our clientele. With the toilets for all, we want to contribute to this:

  • to remove barriers in everyday life: For many people, especially parts of the queer community, using public toilets is associated with stress and insecurity. A toilet like this can reduce this pressure and offer more security.
  • more comfort for more people: The toilets for everyone offer plenty of space and also provide more flexible options for people with limited mobility, parents who want to go to the toilet with their children and people with support needs and their carers.

There are no nappy-changing facilities in the toilets for everyone. If you need a nappy-changing facility, please contact the information point at Südring 2 and Südring 3, where you will be given access to the relevant room on the ground floor.
