"Children do circus" - looking for people interested in childcare
For many years now, the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg has been offering the "Children do circus" project in cooperation with the Frankenberg youth centre. Interested parties can be trained as chaperones for the circus education project and then take over the supervision. The supervisors accompany the participating children throughout the entire project. They develop the circus acts together and support the circus team in their educational and organisational work.
The circus team provides the carers with circus education training to prepare them professionally. This provides basic knowledge in the field of circus education, safety aspects and methods of working with children and groups. The training will take place on 8 February 2026 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Frankenberg, the circus project will begin on 14 June with the tent set-up and end on 20 June 2026 with the public circus performance and tent dismantling. The circus education workshops will take place daily from 15 - 19 June.
An expense allowance is paid for the work as a chaperone for "Kinder machen Zirkus". In addition, carers are provided with free meals for the entire duration of the project. Time off for voluntary work can also be granted if required.
Registration for the training and the circus project is now possible online or by e-mail at jugendarbeit@lkwafkb.de or by telephone on 05631 954-5008.
