New counselling service for people in stressful situations
The district's social psychiatric service now offers a low-threshold "walk and talk" group programme for people in stressful situations or with mental illnesses. The aim of the group walks is to use exercise and conversation as a door opener to break down inhibitions when contacting help systems.
Reduce inhibitions, counteract loneliness
With this offer, the district wants to create easy access for exchange and support, which is made possible through regular walks together. This series of events will not only help to break down inhibitions about contacting support systems, but also counteract loneliness and promote health and social participation. Walks and conversations serve as "door openers" to give those affected the opportunity to talk to each other without pressure or obligations. People of all ages who either suffer from stress or feel lonely and would like to go for a walk in company are welcome.
Meetings every fortnight on Tuesdays
The meetings will take place every 14 days from 4 November - always on Tuesdays at 3.30 pm. This year, they will be held on 4 November, 18 November, 2 December and 16 December. Closing times and public holidays are excluded. The meeting point is in front of the new district administration building in Korbach at Südring 3. The offer is open and free of charge and registration is not required, so anyone interested can simply drop by and join in. The one-hour walks offer the opportunity to network and make new contacts, while the fresh air and exercise are good for both the body and the mind. Further information on the social psychiatric service is also available online and by calling 05631-954 5808 or 05631-954 1487.
