Volcanism and more: Evening lecture on 12 March in Wolfhagen

Under the title "Volcanism, landscape and geology of the Wolfhager Land", the National Geopark GrenzWelten and the Regional Museum Wolfhager Land invite you to a public evening lecture on 12 March 2026. From 7 p.m., the two speakers Dr Reiner Kunz and Dr Thomas Pawellek will share their expertise with interested parties in the conference room of the Wolfhagen branch office of the Kassel district administration in Ritterstraße 1. There is an admission charge of 3 euros per person, registration is not required. After the lecture, it is possible to visit the museum's geology room, which presents the Wolfhagen prehistoric animal, together with the experts.

The Wolfhager Land region is characterised by an exciting geological past, traces of which are still visible in the landscape today. The speakers are recognised experts in regional geology. In their presentation, they provide a vivid insight into the volcanic processes, the formation of the landscape and the geological features of the region. It will become clear how closely natural history and today's landscape are linked.

The lecture is aimed at all interested parties - both those with a background in geology and laypeople who would like to learn more about the formation of their home or simply the region. Visual material and comprehensible explanations make the complex interrelationships understandable and lively. Further information is available from the GrenzWelten National Geopark or the Wolfhager Land Regional Museum.
