Theatre week 2026

Theatre week 2026

In 2026, the Korbach Theatre Week - the oldest existing amateur theatre festival in Germany - will once again take place for the 77th time. The theatre festival consists of three pillars: The performances as a forum for all forms of expression on stage, the discussions, which directly follow the performances as a joint attempt to analyse what has been shown, and the workshops, in which a presentation is developed to conclude the theatre week.

Workshop theme 2026: Life Circus: Staging aphorisms and being guided by circus elements of the "New Circus" in theatre performance

In developing the theme, the aim is to play with circus forms of the "New Circus" in an experimental and testing game. This traditional form of performance has developed from a pure display of skills and dressage into an independent stage form that enriches the performing arts scene.
