From 17 to 21 January: District offers vaccinations for children

After the Standing Commission on Vaccination (STIKO) at the Robert Koch Institute expanded its vaccination recommendation, the Waldeck-Frankenberg district already offered special vaccination days for children from the age of five at the end of the year. In the coming week, first and second vaccinations for children and adolescents will again be available at the Korbach Mini Vaccination Centre in support of the registered paediatricians' practices. It is not necessary to make an appointment.

Ease vaccination campaign, avoid waiting times
For this purpose, the small Hauerhalle is open from Monday to Friday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.. From 17 to 20 January, if possible, the focus will be on second vaccinations for children who received their first vaccination in the last week of last year. On 21 January, the focus will be on first vaccinations for children. Their second vaccination is then scheduled for 11 February from 2 to 7 pm. On 22 January, as every Saturday, everyone can get vaccinated again.

Sufficient BioNTech available
With this division, the vaccination campaign is to be somewhat equalised so that there is as little waiting time as possible for those willing to be vaccinated. "Nevertheless, we will not turn anyone away at the centre. Not at any time," emphasises First District Commissioner and Head of Health Karl-Friedrich Frese. "On the contrary: everyone who wants to will get a vaccination." Only the vaccine from BioNTech & Pfizer will be vaccinated this week - regardless of age group.

Paediatricianson hand
Paediatricians from Waldeck-Frankenberg are on hand to provide parents and children with comprehensive information and medical advice on request. The STIKO currently recommends vaccination for children from the age of five with various pre-existing conditions. In addition, it is also recommended for children who are in contact with persons at high risk of a severe course of the disease and who themselves cannot be protected or can only be insufficiently protected by vaccination. Furthermore, all other children from the age of five can also be vaccinated upon individual request.

Have documents ready
It is sufficient if a person with parental authority accompanies the child to the vaccination. With the signature of one parent in the consent for vaccination, the consent of the other parent is automatically assumed and given. The following should be brought to the vaccination: The child's health insurance card and vaccination certificate, the guardian's identity card and, if possible, the already completed "Information sheet for vaccination against Covid-19 with mRNA vaccine" and the already completed "Medical history and consent form for vaccination against Covid-19 with mRNA vaccine". The documents can be downloaded from the district's website at www.landkreis-waldeck-frankenberg.de/impfen.
