Parents' café with reading aloud on 12 and 13 September

The Youth Service of the Waldeck-Frankenberg District with its Early Intervention Department participates in the action programme "Catching up with Corona". This is a support programme of the Federal Early Help Foundation, funded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.

In this context, parent cafés with reading aloud will again be held in the Frankenberg and Korbach municipal libraries on 12 and 13 September 2022. In cooperation with the two municipal libraries, the offer is aimed at parents with small children, mainly from birth to 3 years of age; siblings are also welcome. The current Corona rules are observed at the parent cafés.

A child-friendly environment and guidance by library staff and a pedagogical specialist offer the best conditions for all visitors to the parents' café to spend a few pleasant hours in the public libraries. Parents can look forward to interesting and stimulating read-alouds and can go on a journey of discovery into the world of books together with their child. In addition, parents and children can borrow so-called discovery backpacks, which are filled with e.g. age-appropriate picture books, read-aloud books, a hand puppet, a radio play and a Tonie figure.

At the event on Monday, 12 September, 4 p.m. in Frankenberg and on Tuesday, 13 September, 9 a.m. in Korbach, finger and singing games, handicrafts or painting as well as reading aloud are offered; in Korbach, the focus is specifically on the farm. The specialist and baby helper Sabine Guaglianone-Hesse accompanies the parents' café, in Korbach she is supported by the volunteer reader Ulrike Eitner-Huber.
