Parents' café with reading aloud offer in municipal libraries in July

The next parent cafés with reading aloud in 2023 will take place on Friday, 7 July, in Frankenberg and Monday, 10 July, in Korbach. The offer by the Youth Service of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district with the Early Intervention Department was established within the framework of the expired action programme "Catching up with Corona" and is now carried out in cooperation with the towns of Frankenberg and Korbach. It is aimed at parents with young children, mainly from birth to 3 years of age; siblings are also welcome.

The parent cafés in cooperation with the two municipal libraries take place in a child-friendly environment and are accompanied by library staff and a pedagogical specialist - the best conditions for all visitors to the parent café to spend pleasant hours in the municipal libraries. Parents can look forward to interesting and stimulating read-alouds and can go on a journey of discovery into the world of books together with their child. In addition, parents and children can borrow so-called discovery backpacks, which are filled with e.g. age-appropriate picture books, read-aloud books, a hand puppet, a radio play and a Tonie figure.

There is only a limited number of participants for the parent cafés with reading aloud, so registration is required:

  • for the event in Frankenberg at e-mail buecherei@frankenberg.de for 7 July 2023 at 4 p.m. by 30 June.
  • for the event in Korbach at e-mail stadtbuecherei@korbach.de for 10 July 2023 at 4 p.m. by 3 July.

Participation is free of charge.
