Opinions & appraisals

The assessment and drafting of statements is an important part of ensuring the accessibility and usability of buildings and public facilities, removing barriers, fulfilling legal requirements and shaping an inclusive society.

What does the offer include?

  • Assessment: This involves checking whether a building or infrastructure meets the applicable accessibility standards. The structural conditions, technical equipment and user-friendliness for people with different disabilities are analysed.
  • Statements: After the assessment, detailed reports and recommendations are drawn up. These statements provide information on the extent to which accessibility is guaranteed and, if necessary, suggest improvement measures.

Objectives of the programme:

  • Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and standards, such as the DIN 18040 series or other standards
  • Support for planners, architects and building owners in the planning and realisation of barrier-free solutions
  • Promoting inclusion by recognising barriers at an early stage and not creating or removing them in the first place
  • Improving accessibility for all user groups, especially for people with disabilities, older people or people with special needs, for example

Advantages for clients:

  • Neutral assessment of accessibility
  • Expertise and independent assessment
  • Specific recommendations for action to optimise accessibility and usability
  • Support with the fulfilment of legal requirements and eligibility criteria

Procedure:

  1. Enquiry and needs analysis: Definition and agreement regarding the properties or projects to be assessed
  2. On-site inspection or document review: Depending on requirements, an inspection and/or analysis of existing documents is carried out
  3. Preparation of the report: detailed assessment and recommendations
  4. Statement: Summary of the results for clients, planners or authorities / public bodies
