Health centre in Battenberg introduces itself
Construction of the health centre in Battenberg started in summer 2022. The providers will move into their new practice rooms from April this year. The individual practices will open between 15 April and 2 May. General medicine, physiotherapy, podiatry, psychotherapy, nursing services and counselling: the centre combines many medical and nursing services under one roof. And: there is currently still space available for a dental practice.
Combining the various service providers in one centre has many advantages: it not only creates synergies between the local players. Above all, it helps local patients, who can then find many healthcare services bundled together at a single location - barrier-free, easily accessible and with sufficient parking facilities available.
Numerous services under one roof
The psychotherapeutic practice Grit Konschu, which offers psychotherapy for adults with a focus on behavioural therapy - including for those suffering from depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive or eating disorders - will be located in the centre. The Foltmann podiatry practice, which specialises in medical and diabetic foot care, will also be represented at the centre. The Oberes Edertal care team from the DRK care service will support those in need of care and family carers in providing care at home. The practice for coaching, supervision and organisational consulting Yvonne Welker also offers consulting services and coaching in various fields of the working world and on other topics.
The joint practice of Dr Thomas Frank and Friederike Philippi will take over general medical care in the centre. The physiotherapy practice Cataldo Schirru will open a second location in the Battenberg centre in addition to its headquarters in Allendorf. The district of Waldeck-Frankenberg will also be represented in the new health centre with services offered by the self-help contact point and community care.
Space still available for dentistry
There is also still space available for a dental practice: On a practice area of 265 square metres, a practice area with five treatment rooms is available for this purpose. Background
The health centre in Battenberg is one of two centres in Waldeck-Frankenberg that are intended to offer a tailored supplement to good medical care with health-related services. Both centres are being set up by the local authorities in cooperation with the district and are intended to ensure good medical and healthcare provision for people in the long term in regions where not all GP practices are currently occupied.
