"Amphitryon"

"Amphitryon"

From Molière. Performed by the ARTIG ensemble of the Marienschule Münster under the direction of Christian Reick and Josephine Streil.

Mercury and Jupiter are bored. So what do they do? Of course they do! Slip into the guise of living people and deceive and irritate those around them. What else could they do? Their targets are the general Amphitryon and his servant Sosias. In their guise, they are indistinguishable from the original.

And that's where our reality strikes. Technology makes it possible for us to create digital imitations and media avatars that are sometimes difficult to distinguish from reality. So what exactly is it about us that makes a person unique? Are the imitations and avatars perhaps sometimes the better versions of us?

Ensemble ARTIG is the label for theatre at Marienschule for grades 9 to Q2. Every year, the group develops its own production and explores new paths, both in terms of form and content. To avoid always following the same path, the group regularly draws inspiration from the local theatre scene in Münster and invites choreographers, actors and dramaturges to collaborate.
