Geoportal North Hesse: Find - View - Know

Due to their spatial properties, geoinformation (geodata) is indispensable for numerous planning and decision-making processes for business, administration and citizens. Through their use, complex issues can be analysed simply, quickly and transparently and the results can be presented in a clear form. In order to improve the availability and the possibilities of use of the geodata kept in distributed sources and different responsibilities and thus to further develop their potential for added value, a series of technical and organisational measures are being taken as part of the development of the GDI Waldeck-Frankenberg.

As a central element of these measures, the GDI Waldeck-Frankenberg operates the Geoportal Nordhessen in cooperation with the GDI Nordosthessen (districts of Hersfeld-Rotenburg, Schwalm-Eder and Werra-Meißner). In addition to the four districts, almost all towns and municipalities belonging to the district are involved in this project. They are supported by the offices for land management in Homberg/Efze and Korbach.

Municipal - but also subsequently used geodata from supraregional sources - are bundled in the Geoportal Nordhessen and made available to the user. They are accessible both in topic-specific "thematic maps" and in an "individual map", with the help of which the individual topics can be combined with each other.
