Money worries and debts: New self-help group in the district

In a self-help group, people meet who suffer from a similar problem, illness or disability. The self-help contact point of the district supports the groups in Waldeck-Frankenberg in their work. "Self-help is an important pillar of the German health system," emphasises Heike Eschler, who coordinates the contact point. In addition, self-help effectively complements the professional work of doctors and therapists. Chronically ill people and people in particularly stressful life situations receive advice and support in the groups, find solutions together and help themselves and others in the process.

The self-help contact point of the district therefore sets itself the goal of further spreading the idea of self-help through educational work, creating a self-help-friendly climate in the district and supporting new self-help groups in their foundation. This was also the case with the group that meets for the first time on 2 November 2021 at 6 p.m. for a founding meeting: money worries and debts are the focus of the group's work. The meeting place is the German Red Cross building in Hünighäuser Weg in Bad Arolsen. In future, the group will meet regularly there in the training room on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm.

Are you worried about money, do you perhaps even have debts, are the background questions for the self-help group that is being set up. If you can answer them in the affirmative, would like to talk to others about your situation, but don't know anyone to talk to or don't really dare, the self-help group "Money Worries and Debts" will be exactly the right address for you. "No one needs to be ashamed to join the group. We are happy about everyone who joins and thereby helps others, not just themselves," emphasises Heike Eschler.
