District supports fire and disaster protection in Allendorf (Eder)
First District Councillor Karl-Friedrich Frese handed over two important funding decisions to the mayor of the municipality of Allendorf (Eder), Carsten Schäfer, this month. The district is supporting the construction of a new fire station in Haine, which will also house an emergency response vehicle, as well as the purchase of a modern relay fire engine for fighting vegetation fires in accordance with current standards for the Somplar fire brigade.
150,000 euros in funding is to be paid out by the district this year following receipt of the building application for the new fire station in Haine. The fire station will be equipped with an additional parking space so that the district's disaster control vehicle can be accommodated there. A further grant of 10,000 euros will be presented to the mayor of the municipality of Allendorf (Eder) for the purchase of a relay fire engine with additional equipment for fighting vegetation fires for the Somplar fire brigade.
Karl-Friedrich Frese, First District Councillor, emphasised: "By implementing these projects, we are not only strengthening civil protection in our region, but also helping to provide volunteers with the best possible infrastructure. A safe and modern fire station and specialised vehicles are essential in order to meet the growing challenges in fire and disaster protection."
The new location of the fire station, which is situated directly on the B253, enables fast and efficient operations for the disaster control vehicle assigned by the state. This saves time in the event of an emergency. However, the new fire station not only makes it possible to better comply with legal requirements, it also makes an important contribution to supporting the volunteer fire brigade.
Mayor Carsten Schäfer expressed his delight at the donations: "The new fire station and the relay fire engine are not only a benefit for the safety of our citizens, but also a clear sign of appreciation for our emergency services."
With these developments, Allendorf is optimally equipped to deal with fire and disaster scenarios and contributes to the continuous improvement of the local safety infrastructure.
