"The good person"

"The good person"
Freely adapted from Bertolt Brecht's "The Good Man of Szechwan", performed by the theatre group of the Mies van der Rohe School Aachen rohestheater under the direction of Eckhard Debour.
If Kurt Schwitters has his way, then "being good" is not possible for people because the "circumstances" are never - and in capitalism probably not at all - such that one can survive by sharing. So there are no good people because they don't survive? Does this really correspond to our experience?
The question of who or what a human being is, a question that has also played a major role in the work of rohestheater over the years, is a good conclusion to the theatre work at the Mies van der Rohe School under Eckhard Debour. However, simply "re-enacting" Brecht's story, regardless of questions of topicality, was out of the question for the group. And yet the content of his Good Man of Szechwan should certainly be preserved... a balancing act.
The school theatre production at the Miesvan der Rohe School, a vocational college for technology in the Aachen city region, begins at the start of the school year and the development process ends in March, shortly before the performances. The literature course/work group as a joint project for years 11 to 13 is unusual for a vocational college specialising in technology and is also open to external students and alumni. School here is also an open leisure and living space for the students.
