Monument Book - Inspecting

Please note in particular our information under:
  • Performance specification

The entry of a property in the register of monuments is made for the information of the public. (Whether something is a cultural monument, on the other hand, is determined by § 2 of the Hessian Monument Protection Act itself: every object that fulfils the criteria listed there is a cultural monument).

If you want to know whether your building is a cultural monument of special importance, you can consult the monument register. Depending on the city or district, this is already possible for some areas on the Internet: https://denkxweb.denkmalpflege-hessen.de

Anyone is permitted to inspect the monument register.

Special information for - District of Waldeck-Frankenberg

Since 1980, the cultural monuments in Hessen have been systematically recorded in images, text and maps and published in the volumes of the "Denkmaltopographie Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Cultural Monuments in Hesse".

In the meantime, more than two thirds of the monuments are documented in these volumes and some of them can already be viewed on the Internet - in the digital register of cultural monuments in Hessen (DenkXweb): https: //denkxweb.denkmalpflege-hessen.de/

The creation of the monument topography in the area of the northern district of Waldeck-Frankenberg is still in progress according to the inventory / State Office for Monument Preservation. Therefore, what is available in provisional monument lists applies, but changes may still occur. Therefore, there is no binding legal certainty.
