Housing advice
The housing counselling is implemented as a preventive, if desired also outreach and networked counselling concept for individual housing assessment and adaptation in the context of age-appropriate or impairment-appropriate, barrier-free housing for interested parties and those seeking advice in the entire Waldeck-Frankenberg district. The counselling service is available close to home and throughout the district on the topic of preventive or needs-based adaptation of existing living spaces. Exemplary counselling contents:
- Lighting situation, definition and avoidance of trip hazards, ....
- Consideration and adaptation of the access situation, ramps, lifts, door openers, ....
- Door widenings, door thresholds, movement areas, ....
- Adaptation measures in kitchen, bathroom and WC
- Further according to individual needs

Contact can be made directly via the counselling providers or the Coordination Office for Accessibility. The consultations are adapted to an exemplary flow chart:
- Situation analysis with a preventive character (if necessary also outreach)
- Development of individually adapted solution proposals
- Optional: Support of the conversion measures (technical submission / planning by e.g. specialist planners)
- Participation in the recording of costs
- Information and advice on subsidies and cost units for housing adaptation measures
- Support and assistance with applications
- Financing planning (financing partners, subsidies, grants...)
- Agreement on responsibilities for the implementation of the planned measures
- Accompaniment during constructional implementation measures
- If necessary, referral to other specialist agencies and service providers from the trades and crafts sector
- Evaluation of the result
