Annual funding for swimming pool clubs

For five years now, the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg has supported the voluntary swimming pool associations of the district with a grant of 30,000 euros each. This summer, District Administrator Dr. Kubat is once again handing over the certificates in person at the Landau open-air swimming pool.

In 2016, the sports and youth work department of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district started to provide 30,000 euros for the voluntary swimming pool clubs. This amounts to a total of 3,750 euros for each of the eight clubs. "We care very much about the voluntary associations in our district. These and also the swimming pools must be preserved for our region," explained District Administrator Dr. Reinhard Kubat at the handover ceremony in Landau.

In addition to the sports funding from the district, there is another funding programme from the state of Hesse called "SWIM". The clubs in Mengeringhausen, Rhoden, Diemelsee-Vasbeck and Landau have already taken advantage of the swimming pool investment programme and have also received funding for their clubs. The funds will be used, for example, to renovate the circulation system in Landau. The Rengershausen swimming pool association is also hoping for additional support from the state. The money is to be invested in a pool cover.
