#Understanding local elections: Online seminar on 26 February

Even in times of a pandemic, politics of course continues to take place - and so do elections as the basis for the co-determination of responsible citizens in political events. The local elections in Hesse on 14 March are the best example of this. As in previous years, this election will again be the first time that many first-time voters will have the opportunity to help shape politics by casting their votes.

The free online seminar in the series "Democracy Talks North Hesse", which will take place digitally on Friday, 26 February from 6 to 7.30 p.m., is aimed at them and other young people interested in politics. It is organised by the four DEXT offices (Democracy Promotion and Extremism Prevention) of the North Hessian districts of Kassel, Schwalm-Eder, Waldeck-Frankenberg and Werra-Meissner, who cordially invite you to this second event in the series.

The title of the seminar says it all: "#Understanding Local Elections" aims to guide those who may participate in the election for the first time through the electoral logistics that many find convoluted. Together with representatives of the political youth organisations of the parties from the districts, the bodies to be elected and the ballot paper will be presented. Local political issues are also on the agenda and will be discussed after the presentation.

For organisational reasons, it is necessary to register for the free seminar. As the DEXT office of the Schwalm-Eder district is in charge of coordination, it will also accept registrations. Until 25 February, 12 noon, it is possible to register for the seminar by e-mail at anna.stiehl@schwalm-eder-kreis.de or by phone at 05681/ 775-718. The organisers hope for many participants.
