Off to Frankfurt: District offers special train for young people

Financial metropolis and major airport, art centre and historic Römerberg, but also shopping paradise - "Mainhattan", as the city of Frankfurt is also called, has a lot to offer. To get to know the Hessian metropolis, the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg cordially invites all children and young people from 11 to 17 years to an excursion to the Main metropolis. A special train will be used for the free trip on 21 August 2021, registrations are now possible online until 18 July 2021 .

Leisure activities, celebrations, events and above all social contacts have been severely restricted by Corona for more than a year. On this issue, the district conducted a survey among children and young people through its sports and youth work department together with the municipalities of Lichtenfels, Frankenau and Vöhl. It came out very clearly that our younger ones suffer particularly from this situation and especially miss social contacts and activities with friends.

Reason enough for the district to want to bring a little variety and excitement into the lives of the young age groups: It is to go to Frankfurt for a day on 21 August. All 11- to 17-year-olds are cordially invited to this special event, which is free of charge for them. The special train for the trip of the children and young people to Frankfurt is provided by Kurhessenbahn and Nordhessischer Verkehrsverbund. Discovering the metropolis on the Main, making social contacts or refreshing acquaintances... an exciting day awaits the participants. Online registration is possible until 18 July 2021.
