District offers desired appointments for first vaccinations at the vaccination centre

In future, the district will make it even easier for people to get vaccinated in Waldeck-Frankenberg: from now on, people who want to be vaccinated can make an appointment for their first vaccination directly at the Korbach vaccination centre by calling 05631 - 57 308 89. Of course, appointments can still be made via the official portal of the state of Hesse. However, a certain number of appointments will be allocated quickly and easily via the district's new additional telephone appointment system.

Select desired date

Make an appointment today, get vaccinated tomorrow: The district wants to make the path to vaccination even more convenient in this way - spontaneously and without a long wait for a vaccination appointment. "In Waldeck-Frankenberg, half of the citizens have already been vaccinated once. That is already a good quota, but we would like to make it possible for even more people to be protected against the coronavirus as quickly as possible - also with regard to the spread of the delta variant," reports District Administrator Dr. Reinhard Kubat. "Because we are currently in the good position of having enough vaccine available for the first time, we would like to make a spontaneous offer to people who want to be vaccinated at short notice - and in a time window that suits them well."

Previously, remaining vaccination doses were allocated on the day via the district's vaccination follow-up platform, where those willing to be vaccinated could register and then be offered the appointment by text message and at random a few hours before the possible vaccination. "The platform will continue. Everyone who is registered there will continue to receive appropriate vaccination offers," said First District Commissioner Karl-Friedrich Frese. "But there are also people for whom the short-term vaccination offer via SMS on the same day is too spontaneous. The registration via the telephone hotline now offers them the possibility to choose the desired date themselves. This is a good addition to further advance the vaccination campaign in Waldeck-Frankenberg."

Call directly to the vaccination centre

For this purpose, the hotline at the vaccination centre in Korbach is staffed from 8.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., Mondays to Saturdays, on tel. 05631 - 57 308 89. Anyone can make an appointment for a vaccination that suits them personally - regardless of any prioritisation. The only restriction is that only people who have not yet received their first vaccination can register. Because: People who have already been vaccinated once are already scheduled for the second vaccination where they received the first. For example, having the first dose administered at the family doctor's and the second at the vaccination centre is unfortunately not possible for logistical and organisational reasons.

Nevertheless, the district wants to give citizens an additional option with the telephone appointment system. "Our vaccination follow-up platform is a good instrument for allocating remaining doses," Kubat and Frese agree. "But with the telephone appointment request, we can now additionally make a quick offer to people who, for example, cannot make their way directly to Korbach after a text message because of work or childcare." Vaccinations are an important building block in the fight against the pandemic, he said. "And we are relentlessly pushing this forward in order to hopefully soon be able to enable the people in Waldeck-Frankenberg to live as normal a life as possible again."
