Holiday camp for single parents on Sylt

The women's office of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district and the district adult education centre invited single parents to a holiday on the island of Sylt. For eight days, the participants could let the sea breeze blow around their noses, enjoy the refreshing North Sea climate and recharge their batteries for everyday life. A total of 37 people - single parents, children and carers - took part in the leisure time and drew the enthusiastic conclusion: a worthwhile stay and a wonderful time together.

The programme around the Jugendseeheim was impressive. Those who wanted to do something especially good for their bodies got their money's worth during the daily yoga session. The walks along the beach and the mudflat hike on the tracks of high and low tide on the seabed were very popular. A scavenger hunt and creative activities were just as popular as the Sylt Olympics. And if all that was too much activity for you, you could simply enjoy the sea and the beach. It was correspondingly hard to say goodbye after a good week of happy get-togethers on the North Sea island.
