State supports construction of the health centre in Frankenau

In order to strengthen medical care in rural areas, innovative ideas and new care models are needed - and this is also the case in Waldeck-Frankenberg. Two health centres are currently being built in the district, one of them in Frankenau. The state of Hesse is supporting the construction with funding.

Going one door over from the doctor's visit to the pharmacy to redeem the prescribed prescription: In the future, numerous health services will be combined under one roof in the new health centres being built in Frankenau and Battenberg with the support of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district. The state of Hesse supports the measure in Frankenau - and finances the architectural costs incurred for planning and implementation. The district has submitted a corresponding funding application to the state of Hesse on behalf of the town of Frankenau. First District Councillor Karl-Friedrich Frese has now handed over the approval to Frankenau's Mayor Björn Brede.

In total, the state of Hesse will cover 80 per cent of the architectural costs, which is about 168,000 euros. This will allow the architect's office to press ahead with the planning, so that construction can probably start in 2022. Another funding application to the state of Hesse is also being planned in order to receive support for part of the construction costs.

Whether doctors, pharmacists, physiotherapists, care providers, counselling or health care services of all kinds: the goal is to construct multifunctional buildings at the locations in the southern district in which as many actors from the health care sector as possible can combine their services. This means short distances, barrier-free access, a bundling of synergies and multi-professional care - especially for elderly patients from rural areas.
