Submit a project, win a video: Competition for volunteers

Whether Advent caroling, repair cafés, art trails or flowering area sponsorships: In Waldeck-Frankenberg there are numerous associations that do voluntary work. To honour this commitment, the district is launching a competition: Volunteers can apply with their activities - and win an image video for their own public relations work.

The aim is to offer the doers the opportunity to present their actions, to inspire other volunteers, to promote joint exchange and to support each other. Associations that are currently implementing projects or have done so in the past are encouraged to apply. They can apply online until 15 November. All they have to do is fill out a questionnaire describing their action. All volunteers in Waldeck-Frankenberg and voluntary associations and initiatives can participate.

The best projects win a professionally produced image video for their association or initiative, which they can use for their public relations work and to promote their topic. Sample videos are available here. "We are looking forward to receiving numerous entries for our competition, because it is important to us to further promote the commitment of volunteers in Waldeck-Frankenberg," says District Administrator Dr. Reinhard Kubat. "With the competition, we would also like to achieve that volunteers in the district are even better networked and can exchange ideas within the framework of a common pool of ideas, if they so wish," add the head of the specialist service for village and regional development Dr Jürgen Römer and project coordinator Katharina Kuklovsky.

The initiator of the competition in the district is the Coordination Centre for Civic Engagement Waldeck-Frankenberg, which is a project of the Village and Regional Development Department of the district administration. Under the title "Well coordinated!", support structures for volunteers in the district are created with the help of funding from the state of Hesse. The centre is one of seven centres throughout Hesse that pursue the common goal of strengthening voluntary engagement.
