District welcomes 14 new trainees and students

Information technology, social work, civil engineering or rather administration? This year, the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg welcomes 14 new apprentices and students in five different types of training. Never before have so many young people been welcomed by District Administrator Dr Reinhard Kubat at the start of their training.

During their dual training, the four administrative assistant trainees go through many different areas in the district administration. They change departments every three to four months and thus get a very good insight into the many different tasks performed by the district. In addition to the practical experience, the vocational school in Korbach and the Hessian Administrative School Association in Kassel teach the theoretical parts. The six civil servant candidates (Public Administration and Digital Administration) for the higher service also gain the necessary insights during the practical phases in the administration and study at the Hessian University of Applied Sciences for Police and Administration in Kassel. In three years, they will have obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree.

The course of study for the Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering is similar. He, too, will complete the practical part in the administration and learn the theory at the Technical University of Central Hesse in Wetzlar. Furthermore, the two students will complete their studies in social work dual in cooperation with Fulda University of Applied Sciences. "We are all really pleased that we have been able to attract so many committed young people to our district administration," says District Administrator Dr Reinhard Kubat.

The specialist service for information technology and digital administration will also receive reinforcement: Two IT specialist trainees for system integration will learn a lot of new things in the next three years in the administration and in the vocational school classes at the Hans Viessmann School in Frankenberg. "We will need a lot of junior staff in the coming years in a wide range of specialised services. That's why we had to expand our training and study opportunities to include the most diverse areas of administration," the district administrator went on to explain.

In total, the district currently has 12 young professionals in training as administrative assistants, 16 civil servant candidates in the higher service, three IT specialists for system integration, two students in the field of social work, one student in the field of civil engineering and one business management assistant for office management. The district of Waldeck-Frankenberg will again provide training and study places next year. In addition, the district offers internships for attending technical secondary schools, school and vocational internships as well as a voluntary social year.
