Network for Tolerance invites to summer cinema on 24 September

The Waldeck-Frankenberg Network for Tolerance invites all cinema fans to the summer cinema in Volkmarsen on 24 September. The Finnish film "Master Cheng in Pohjanjoki" will be shown at the Protestant Church, Kasseler Straße 5, starting at 6:30 pm.

The film from 2020 tells the story of Cheng, a Chinese cook, who travels to Finland in search of a person from Pohjanjoki who had helped him in need. When he arrives in the small Finnish village, said helper can't be found. Instead, the cook himself proves to be a saviour in need for the snack bar owner Sirkka. Thanks to a bus full of Chinese tourists, Sirkka is freed from her predicament.

The film comedy has already been shown open air at the sports field in Lichtenfels-Rhadern as part of the "tolerant film summer". There it convinced the audience with beautiful landscape images and the interesting twists of the story. The "Tolerant Film Summer" is held as part of the Hesse Summer Hiking Cinema in cooperation with the Willingen cinema. There will also be no admission charge at the Volkmarsen Protestant Church; the then current Corona Virus containment measures will apply. Please bring a seat with you.

The Network for Tolerance Waldeck-Frankenberg is funded as a Partnership for Democracy by the federal programme of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs "Live Democracy!" as well as by the Hessian Ministry of the Interior.
