Quarantine obligatory, notifications only on request

If you are infected with Corona, you have to go into quarantine for five days according to the current ordinance of the state of Hesse. Until now, the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg has written to all infected persons without exception - and sent them a quarantine notice by post. From now on, the notices are only available on request. The quarantine is nevertheless obligatory.

Applying for notifications by phone
This decision not only saves time, paper and money, but also reduces bureaucracy. "We have made the experience that many infected people no longer need a notification. This is because the quarantine is valid and obligatory even without a letter from us due to the state regulations," reports First District Commissioner Karl-Friedrich Frese. "However, people who need a quarantine notice for their place of work, for example, will of course continue to receive one," he emphasises at the same time. To do so, people can call the district's Corona hotline at 05631-954 555 - and, if necessary, the letter will be sent to them by post. The hotline is open Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.. You can also request the notification online with just a few clicks of the mouse.

Claiming loss of earnings with PCR test result
At the same time, it is pointed out that proof of a positive PCR test result is also sufficient for employers to claim loss of earnings from employees at the Darmstadt Regional Council. This no longer requires a quarantine notice from the Health Department. The positive PCR test certificate is also sufficient for issuing a certificate of recovery in the pharmacy - whether in paper form or digitally on a smartphone.

Quarantine also obligatory without letter
The following applies in principle: If one has a positive result in the rapid test - whether in a testing centre or at home - this should be confirmed by a PCR test. However, according to the Hessian ordinance, the quarantine already applies from the positive rapid test onwards and for five days. The day of the test marks day zero. If you still have symptoms after the legal quarantine period of five days or are still positive in the rapid test, it is strongly recommended that you continue the quarantine on your own responsibility - if necessary, involving your family doctor, who can issue a sick note for this period.
