The managing director of the local energy supplier of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district is currently in Ukraine to accompany the Russian sham referendum as an election observer. "Russia's forced referendums in Ukraine are hypocritical and illegal under international law and a pretext to appropriate Russian-occupied territories in Ukraine. We condemn this illegal annexation in the strongest possible terms," makes clear District Administrator Jürgen van der Horst, who in his function is also Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Energie Waldeck-Frankenberg.
The council of elders and the district committee of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district therefore met in a special session on Saturday to discuss the current situation. With large majority the committee representatives expressed themselves in it for releasing the managing director from its tasks. All members of parliament voted in favor of this, with the exception of the representative of the AfD parliamentary group.
"The broad majority of the committee members, with the exception of the AfD, spoke out in favor of an immediate release of the managing director at today's meeting, which was convened at very short notice. That is a quite clear political signal of the committees of the district", says Jürgen van der Horst further. "With this clear positioning we will go into the consultations with the EWF bodies."
The supervisory boards of Energie Waldeck-Frankenberg, Verbands-Energie-Werk Gesellschaft für Erneuerbare Energien mbH and the EWF association board will make a final decision on the exemption at the meeting on Monday.
