Geismar waste transfer station offers special opening hours

For the first time, there is an additional service offered by the district's waste management department in October to meet the need for increased disposal of garden and hedge cuttings. Karl-Friedrich Frese, First District Councillor and Head of Waste Management, points this out.

The waste transfer station in Geismar is offering supplementary opening hours on two days out of order. On Saturday, 8 October and Saturday, 22 October, the facility will be available from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. for the drop-off of all known types of waste. The background to this is that landscape maintenance work will soon begin, which will increasingly produce so-called green waste that needs to be disposed of.

Woody tree and branch cuttings and soilless root stumps up to 50 cm trunk diameter are accepted free of charge at the waste transfer station in Geismar without weight limit, as are small bio-waste quantities such as leaves, moss, grass cuttings or hedge cuttings up to 250 kg. From a quantity of 250 kg, €6.50 per 100 kg is charged for the entire delivery.
