District organised holiday for single parents on Sylt

Walking by the sea, enjoying nature, play and relaxation activities: Once again this year, the district's Women's and Equal Opportunities Service organised a holiday for single parents on Sylt. 28 parents, children and carers took part.

Visits to the beach, creative activities such as painting T-shirts, felting, threading bracelets and also games and sports evenings were on the varied programme. In addition to a daily yoga programme, there was also relaxation and spinal gymnastics under expert guidance. In addition, the participants also spent a lot of time in nature - for example on a mudflat hike or an orienteering rally. A cinema, a concert and a Hawaiian party rounded off the varied programme.

The Sylt holiday for single parents has been offered by the district for many years. "The offer is always very well received and offers single parents not only a relaxing time with their children, but also the opportunity to talk to each other," says Beate Friedrich, head of the department for women and equal opportunities. "The North Sea holiday guests were unanimous: a thoroughly successful holiday that may be repeated next year." And that is exactly the plan: the event is to be included in the programme again next year.
