Swimming lessons for children between six and twelve years
Together with the Waldeck-Frankenberg sports district, the district is again offering courses this year to teach children between the ages of six and twelve how to swim in the swimming pools in Medebach and Heringhausen. Interested parties can register for these courses now.
The courses are scheduled to take place in Medebach in the mornings from 24 July to 4 August and in Heringhausen from 31 July to 11 August. The costs amount to 40 euros per child. The aim of the courses is not only to give the children an introduction to swimming. Another important goal is to prevent possible swimming accidents. The courses familiarise the children with the water and teach them the first basic techniques of swimming.
Parents can now register their children online at www.landkreis-waldeck-frankenberg.de/veranstaltungen. If the number of registered participants exceeds the capacity of the swimming courses, a lottery will decide who can take part in the swimming course. The sports and youth work department will contact all those who have registered.
The following also applies to the courses: The meeting point is always ten minutes before the start of the course at the entrance to the swimming pool. Swimwear and a towel are required, as well as water wings if available and "practical" clothes so that changing does not take too much time. Any jewellery should be left at home so that it does not get lost. The exercise management cannot accept any liability for valuables such as jewellery, money or watches and will not accept them for safekeeping.
