Basic qualification course for day carers

The district of Waldeck-Frankenberg is once again offering a basic qualification course for prospective childminders this year. The course starts on 6 September 2024 and runs until 17 February 2025. Interested persons have the opportunity to acquire a qualification in the field of child day care in order to subsequently obtain a care permit and thus be able to care for day children in the district.

Childminders play an important role in the early childhood care of our youngest children. Anyone who cares about the development, support and education of children can now register for the basic qualification course for prospective childminders. Childminders look after and support children - usually up to the age of three, sometimes older - in their own home, in the home of their biological parents or in other suitable premises. They offer a family-oriented, individual and flexible form of childcare, which in particular enables personalised and continuous care in small groups.

The course is designed to provide participants with all the knowledge and skills they need to work competently and responsibly in childcare. The training includes theoretical and practical units in which topics such as child development, pedagogical concepts, legal principles and communication with parents are covered. After successfully completing the course, all participants receive a free qualification and certification as a day carer and thus a licence to provide childcare.

Interested persons are requested to register with the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg by 15 August 2024 at the latest. After successful verification of suitability by the Youth Service, you can take part in the basic qualification programme.
