Gourmet evening in the monastery garden

The grounds of the former St. Georgenberg monastery in the Philipp-Soldan town of Frankenberg an der Eder will be filled with colourful hustle and bustle on 5 September 2024 from 6 pm. The district of Waldeck-Frankenberg and its agriculture department, direct marketing division, are organising a "gourmet evening at the monastery garden" on this date. The event is supported by the town of Frankenberg and Sparkasse Waldeck-Frankenberg. Admission is free, registration is not required. Under the motto "Regional - live, delicious and outdoors", all those interested in regional feasting are cordially invited to visit the monastery garden.

In addition to 20 stalls from local direct marketers - from farmhouse ice cream to the sausage room and cocktail bar to trout farming and Schepperlingen - the gourmet evening will also feature a very special guest. Show chef Reiner Neidhart from the Wetterau region is known as an expert on HR's "Hallo Hessen" programme. In two cookery slots, he will transform exquisite regional products into tasty dishes that can also be sampled under his motto "Bringing home to the plate". He also gives cooking tips. In a panel discussion, Neidhart also discusses the flavour of food, the cultivation of which is presented by direct marketers from the region.

In addition to the culinary delights, there will also be live music - the duo Mark and Rolf Freier from Korbach will perform "Songs of the Sixties" and more with guitar and vocals. Visitors to the gourmet evening can also look forward to a breathtaking pirate-style fire show. "Dead Man's Chest", dressed in period costumes and accompanied by appropriate music, will set off in search of a treasure map, including a real chest and a fire sword fight as well as interactive elements. The district would be delighted to welcome a large number of visitors to the gourmet evening on 5 September from 6 pm.
