Disaster management

Within the framework of disaster control, the district's specialist service for rescue services, fire and disaster control coordinates precautions for the defence against disasters and directs the defence measures in the event of a disaster. In addition, it draws up the disaster control plan and special plans, establishes the disaster control staff, conducts protection exercises and advises the municipalities and the participating organisations on disaster control issues.

The district has appointed an honorary district fire chief to support the towns and municipalities and their fire brigades. Further information is available from the district's emergency services, fire and disaster control department.
