All-day schools/all-day offers

  • Performance specification

The gradual expansion of all-day schools and schools with all-day facilities in Hesse takes place on a voluntary basis and is oriented towards the needs of the respective region. With the all-day programme, the state supports the responsible cities and districts. Great importance is attached to the close cooperation of local schools with the school authorities (municipalities), youth welfare institutions and local music schools, sports clubs, booster clubs and other institutions.

In Hesse, there are various all-day profiles that offer the individual schools different scope for design:

    • Schools with voluntary all-day programmes on at least three days per week(profile 1)
    • Schools with voluntary all-day programmes five days a week(profile 2)
    • All-day schools with compulsory teaching and childcare five days a week(profile 3).

In addition, the project "Pakt für den Nachmittag" (Pact for the Afternoon ) supports all-day programmes for the youngest pupils. It is a joint pilot project of the state and school authorities for primary schools and primary grades of special schools to promote the demand-oriented expansion of educational and childcare offers on five days per week and during school holidays.
