All-day schools/all-day offers
Performance specification
The gradual expansion of all-day schools and schools with all-day programmes in Hesse takes place on a voluntary basis and is geared towards the needs of the respective region. The state supports the responsible cities and districts with the all-day programme. Close cooperation between the local schools and the school authorities (local authorities), youth welfare organisations and local music schools, sports clubs, support associations and other institutions is of great importance.
In Hesse, there are various all-day profiles that offer the individual schools different scope for organisation:
- Schools with voluntary all-day programmes on at least three days per week ( profile 1 )
- Schools with voluntary all-day programmes five days a week ( profile 2 )
- All-day schools with a compulsory teaching and supervision programme five days a week ( profile 3 ).
In addition, as part of the ‘Pact for the Afternoon’ project, support is being provided for all-day provision for the youngest pupils. It is a joint pilot project run by the state and school authorities for primary schools and the primary sections of special schools, aimed at promoting the needs-based expansion of educational and childcare provision five days a week and during the school holidays.
