Performance specification
In the case of home care, people in need of care are entitled to benefits in kind such as body-related care, nursing care measures or help with household management. This home care assistance is usually provided by outpatient nursing or care services.
Home care assistance is also possible if the person in need of care lives in a shared care apartment or in the caregiver's household, but not, for example, in a nursing home.
The entitlement to home care assistance includes the following per month
- for care level 2, benefits up to a total value of 689 euros,
- for care level 3, benefits up to a total value of 1,298 euros,
- for care level 4, benefits up to a total value of 1,612 euros and
- for care level 5, benefits up to a total value of 1,995 euros.
If these outpatient care benefits in kind are only partially used, they can be combined with the care allowance. Within the framework of this combination benefit, the long-term care allowance is paid on a pro rata basis depending on the amount of the home care benefits in kind received.

Please contact your long-term care insurance fund first.
Likewise, the respective social welfare office of your district or independent city can also assume the costs for a housekeeping aid if certain conditions for the granting of assistance for living expenses are met. Special situations of need can arise, for example, as a result of illness, disability or need for care.
